Hey Awesome Ones, it's Monique! Let's talk about beauty, girls/guys! I mean real, natural glowing beauty. There's so many products and procedures thrown our way. A cream for this and a potion for that. Do we need it? Not at all, there's a way to be a BEAUTY BOSS without the BOTOX.
Over time, from years of eating not-so-perfect foods, medications and exposure to toxins, and other things, waste builds up in our body. Our skin tells the story. What zaps our body's minerals and energy - WASTE . Our bodies work hard to digest our Western diet, which is rich in acid-forming foods- a skinny latté here, a slice of meat-lover's pizza there....You know what I'm talking about. Our ideal blood pH (power of Hydrogen) should be slightly alkaline at about 7.365. When are bodies are overly acidic, we experience premature aging, lines, wrinkles, acne, dark under eye bags and unhealthy hair and nails. Undoubtedly, your energy is very low, which is why you need that coffee and a sugary snack. Nobody wants that, right?
What can we do? Well, let's start with the yummy news: Add raw green veggies, green juices/smoothies and fruits which are very alkaline. Always start your day with an alkaline food. If you can, start each meal with a raw vegetable salad. Eat fruit only on an empty stomach (We'll talk about that later.) This will begin the detox process, which should be on-going. Next, we have to cut down or preferably eliminate the following:
-Soda (the most acid-forming substance ever)
-Caffeine (you knew that was coming), processed foods and artificial sweeteners,
-Dairy (mucus-forming and the casein is very dangerous) and yes...
-Animal protein. While I know that you will not throw all your meat in the street to be eaten by wild dogs, please try to decrease your consumption. Animal protein is the most difficult for you to digest. When you're eating it all through the day, every day, your body simply can't keep up. Toxic waste builds up in our bodies and drains us of beauty -sustaining minerals and enzymes. After years and years of our bodies having to fight to maintain balance, BAM! we start noticing signs like brittle hair, a protruding belly and lackluster skin. Moving away from acidic foods and adding beautiful raw greens will allow your body to use those precious minerals and energy to tighten up that skin and more. Next week, begin implementing these strategies, check on that lovely face of yours and monitor your energy.
